It is a cosmopolitian and bustling seaside resort with plenty of sight-seeing opportunities, notably the magnificent ancient Kourion Theatre, Kolossi Medieval Castle and Limassol Castle. Limassol has teriffic night life too with a range of tavernas, bars, discos,nightclubs and restaurants.
Beach lovers traditionally head to Ayia Napa for the famous Nissi Beach with its crystal clear waters and beautiful white sand plus thrills-and-spills watersports. Ayia Napa was once a small fishing village and still boasts a superb Venetian Monastry with a central octagonal fountain. Today is picturesque harbour is lined with restaurants and tavernas and, when the sun sets, the resort come to life! Further round the coast you'll find Protaras and Paralimni. The beautiful Fig Tree Bay, along with numerous other wonderful beaces in the area, provide a great excuse to spend lazy days on the beach. Paphos, steeped in history, is situated on the south west coast of the island. Check out its charming fishing harbour lined with tavernas that serve a tempting menu of the day's catch, as well as bars and an impressive little art gallery. Most of the seafront here is pedestrianised, making it easy and enjoyable to walk around and take in the stunning views along the coastline. Designer shops, chic bars and restaurants as well as coffee shops are everywhere, so make time to stroll and take in the easy-going ambience.
