A fantastic, bustling mix of east and west awaits the visitor to Turkey. The countryside, with its pine covered hillsides and fascinating archaeological sites, is a cultural as well as a visual feast while, along the coastline, the azure sea laps uninterrupted miles of soft silky sands.

The delight of Turkey lies in the bustle and excitement which the region presents to its visitors. Its legendary  bazaars are a bargain hunter's dream with cheap leather goods, brass items and,of course, the Turkish carperts! The local food is marvelous and you will have plenty of choice whether you are looking for a sophisticated gourmet restaurant, chic cafes, waterfront fish restaurants, local lokantas or an authentic kebab house. Sightseeing enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice too, with highlights such as  Ephesus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world; the white calcified waters of Pamukkale and  the impressive Lycian Rocks tombs on offer.  A visit to the vibrant and ever-stimulating city of Istanbul is easy to arrange an an independent excursion or a guided tour: an amazing opportunity to see the former Constantinople where Europe and Asia meet.

The Aegean Coast blends the ancient world with fantasic scenry and emerging beach resorts such as Kusadasi. This popular destination has an abundance of shops, eating places, two waterparks and is surrounded by beaches, one of the most famous being the  'Ladies' Beach'.  At night the resort has a bustling and lively atmosphere espically around the aptly named  Bar Street.  Turgutre is prettily surrounded by mountains and the resort's tourism is centred on its main square, circled by shops, cafes and restaurants: perfect for an evening promenade!

Turguteris has retained its traditional Turkish charm and its lovely Marina injects a real cosmopolitian feel to the resort.  Cascading down the hillside  to the water's edge you will find Bodrum, one of the region's best known and most scenically located  resorts. Nearby Gumbet is perfect for lazy days on the beach, with a lively atmosphere as the sun sets.

The Lycean Coast is an area of almost fabled natural beauty and today its shelving sands and the  Loggerhead Turtles which breed there are officially protected. The area's turquoise lagoon and sun- bleached beach have National Park status: a stunning area to visit.  Just beyond you will find characterful resorts such as Marmris, Icmeler, Olu Deniz and many more.  The largest resort in this area is Marmaris which is divided into three areas:  the harbour area with its glamourous yacht marina and main nighlife hub, the Old town with many small bazaars and the main tourist area to the west.  Visitor attractions include a large waterpark.  It's easy ans cheap to take a boat trip over to Rhodes or one of the many smaller islands close to Turkey's shores.

The resort of Icmeler enjoys a beautiful back-drop of  pine-clad mountains and its long golden beach offers a wide range of watersports. Olu Deniz caters for all types of holidaymakers, attracted by its wide arc of sand and shingle beach. Just 4km from Olu Deniz, situated on a high plateau is Hisaronu whose soft breezes and cooler mountain temperatures offer welcome relief from long hot days on the beach.  Fethiye has a stunning harbour area which is bordered by a palm-lined promenade. Behind its quaint harbour, you will find a maze of streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants.
